Civility: Living with others in a polarised age
FairFax Building St Martins College CSUWhat is it to be a person of conviction, yet who can also share community with very different others? We are living through a time when trust can be quite low, and scepticism quite high when it comes to the truth-claims of others. That all becomes magnified by ‘echo chambers’ that double-down primarily on tribal belonging and identity, rather than on any shared quest for a polity that brings some good for all. What might be a way of thinking about our profound differences in perspective? And what are some tips for how to proceed? Rev’d Dr Andrew Cameron has taught for many years in philosophy, theology, and ethics, and will make some suggestions on how to listen, how to discern, and how to act in a fragmented and complex world.

Join theologian and author Dr Michael Jensen who will address these pertinent and pressing issues in this intriguing lecture.
